Job Description

PURPOSE AND SCOPE:

Oversees daily operations of department services, programs and projects at multiple service locations on campus. Acts as lead with developing new services and projects that align to the strategic initiatives identified by the Dean and VPI. Assesses the effectiveness of department programs and services by evaluating the data and compiling reports. Monitors part-time staff budgets and develops annual budget recommendations to supervisor. Makes data-informed recommendations regarding adjustments to programs and services.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  1. Oversees the daily operations of department services, programs and projects
  2. Hires, trains, and evaluates a team of employees, providing leadership, support, and supervision. Monitors team activities to ensure consistent and superior customer service standards are met and to ensure compliance with LSC policies and procedures
  3. Acts as lead with developing new services and projects that align to the strategic initiatives identified by the Dean and VPI
  4. Creates, analyzes, and utilizes a variety of detailed reports
  5. Uses data-driven information in decision-making and to provide informed updates to Administration
  6. Continuously reviews, analyzes and evaluates the effectiveness of department programs and services and makes recommendations for adjustments as needed
  7. Monitors part-time staff budgets and develops annual budget recommendations to support services
  8. Monitors and control area resources such as office supplies and equipment needed within the department; Submit requisitions, and/or reviews and approves/denies purchase requests in accordance with the budget
  9. Responsible for other reasonable related duties as assigned

PHYSICAL ABILITIES:

The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee sits comfortably to do the work. However, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying of light items, such as papers, books, or small parts; or driving an automobile. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.

WORK SCHEDULE AND CONDITIONS:

  • Equipment used includes, PC workstation running on a LAN in a Microsoft Windows environment, calculator, phone and other general office equipment
  • Interface with internal and external contacts as needed to carry out the functions of the position
  • Work is performed in a climate-controlled office with minimal exposure to safety hazards

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree and at least 5 years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience with academic support services, including tutoring and College Reading and Learning Association (CRLA) certifications
Salary

Hiring salary range is $51,761 - $59,525

Lone Star College provides a hiring salary range for all posted full-time non-faculty positions. Where your salary offer would fall in that range is determined by your related experience and education. Should you receive an offer of employment from Lone Star College, the resume submitted in the application process will be utilized to calculate your salary offer.
