Summary:

As a communications expert, the senior corporate communications specialist works with health system leadership to understand business objectives then builds communications strategies and plans to support those objectives. This individual will provide strategic communications consultation and guidance to various leaders across PresbyterianAs delivery system, health plan, medical group and system services. This position will plan, drive, implement, monitor and measure results of communications plans to advance PresbyterianAs purpose. This position demonstrates a sophisticated understanding of audience targeting, modes of communication and emerging internal and external communications trends. This position requires a strategic thinker who is highly accountable and can manage multiple, high-profile projects at one time. Responsibilities:

The ideal candidate will:

  • Manages functional and cross-functional communications projects to achieve objectives and measure results.
  • Actively seeks opportunities to protect and promote the Presbyterian brand to internal and external audiences.
  • Work closely with senior leaders in responding to media inquiries, crises, workforce or organizational changes by recommending approaches and messages and developing communications and plans under tight deadlines. Make recommendations on how to best frame and position key issues.
  • Applies critical thinking and leadership skills to drive communications plans from development to execution and reporting results.
  • Write and edit communications, including speeches, key message documents, press releases, employee/leader emails, talking points and intranet and social media content. Manage the process for gathering content, editing and securing approvals.
  • Lead the continuous improvement of organizational communications through benchmarking, data driven analysis, research and adoption of best practices inside and outside of healthcare, and by monitoring the effectiveness of communications activities against objectives.
  • Execute communications plans using vehicles including the intranet, videos, press releases, social media, emails, events, e-newsletters, presentations and face-to-face interactions.
  • Collaborate and create meaningful relationships with Presbyterians leadership team and local media to create superior communications outcomes for the organization.
  • Serve on cross-functional and/or organization-wide committees where appropriate.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in Journalism, Communications, or Business with Marketing emphasis.
  • Five+ year of experience in communications required. Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
  • Keen organizational skills and an ability to manage multiple projects at one time in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong collaboration skills and flexibility to adapt to an ever-changing priority list.
