We are seeking Member-driven candidates with exceptional communication and analytical thinking skills, for the position of Collector.

This role is responsible for the collection of delinquent loan debts in alignment with credit union policies and procedures. This position plays a key role in supporting Members' financial health while safeguarding the credit union's loan portfolio.

Standard schedule: 40 hours weekly, Monday-Friday, with arrival between 9:00-10:00 a.m. and departure between 5:30-6:30 p.m. Exact schedule to be discussed and agreed upon during the interview.

New employees may be eligible for a hiring bonus of $500.00.

Key Job Functions:

  • Monitors delinquent accounts and conducts consistent outreach to Members with past-due accounts.
  • Provides credit counseling and proposes tailored solutions to enhance Members' financial stability.
  • Accurately posts payments on delinquent loans in accordance with established guidelines.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • A High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Additional experience as a substitution for a degree may be considered.
  • One to three years of similar or related experience, preferably in a credit union, financial institution, or call center.
  • Exceptional communication skills with strong Member service and negotiation capabilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Skilled in interpreting and applying policies, procedures, and legal documents, including garnishments, judgments, and bankruptcy filings.
  • Must be able to push, pull, or lift up to 50 lbs., as needed, and requires extended periods of sitting and/or standing and to be able to use PC, copier, scanner, fax, etc.

Compensation ranges are based on market data that enables Justice Federal Credit Union to remain competitive with other credit unions of similar asset size.
