What You'll Do

You'll train to become proficient in all core responsibilities required in Computer Operations. Your work supports distribution, order processing, database operations, and major enterprise platforms-all essential to keeping customer deliveries on time.

This position is on-site in Temple, Texas.

In This Role, You Will:
  • Train to become proficient in all required Computer Operations functions.
  • Answer incoming Operations/Help Desk calls and perform firstlevel diagnosis, logging each incident in the problem management system.
  • Create and complete incidents with accurate user profiles, categorization, prioritization, and full action history.
  • Engage secondlevel teams and vendors to resolve timesensitive issues.
  • Follow up on divisional printer issues to support timecritical order processing.
  • Monitor, identify, and resolve issues across MVS, DB2, and CICS environments to ensure stable batch and database operations.
  • Support and monitor network connectivity between distribution centers and the data center for Mainframe, AS400, and network platforms.
  • Monitor AS400 systems (Genesis, JDE, RODS, PRODA, DEVA) for availability and performance.
  • Monitor UNIX/AIX/Linux environments, ensuring scripts run successfully and failures are addressed promptly.
  • Support batch job schedules for all business units to prevent delays to customer order deliveries.
  • Monitor divisional job request inboxes and process them in a timely manner.
  • Diagnose and resolve customer order entry tool issues.
  • Maintain MQ order well queues to ensure order flow to mainframe and applications.
  • Manage tape media rotation, backups, and scratch availability.
  • Work Help Desk and Operator email inboxes, resolving items promptly.
  • Moderate highpriority incident calls and coordinate appropriate support resources.
  • Communicate updates on highpriority issues to Information Systems Management.
  • Recognize and resolve batch job failures (Mainframe & AS400), including minor JCL changes and reruns/restarts.
  • Manage weekend batch schedules, backups, QA windows, and system IPLs.
  • Administer weekly shutdown/startup of Mainframe and AS400 systems.
  • Perform minor JCL updates using Serena Change Management as requested.
