At Children's National Hospital, DC Metropolitan Police Officers help protect patients, families, staff, and visitors while supporting one of the nation's leading pediatric healthcare organizations. In this role, you will use your judgment, professionalism, and commitment to public service to help maintain a safe, welcoming, and secure environment for children and families during some of their most important moments. Working alongside healthcare professionals and security teams, you will play a vital role in advancing patient safety, responding to emergencies, and serving the community with compassion, tact, and excellence. Metropolitan Police Department Officers (MPD) will provide protective services for the patients, families, staff, and property of Children's National Health System (CNHS). As directed, CNHS MPD Officers respond to emergency situations while enforcing the established hospital policies and in accordance with the laws of the District of Columbia. Department personnel must maintain a tactful and courteous demeanor in the exercising of duties. Will perform access control using state of the art technology in order to ensure the safety of patients. Will perform security patrols of entire location assigned to proactively identify risks to the hospital. The primary areas of responsibilities will be the Emergency Departments. Frequently works with medical professionals in advancement of patient safety. Support CNHS Special Police Officers with detention and/or arrest of individuals in violation of the laws of the District of Columbia.Minimum Education

The disclosed salary range includes the minimum and maximum rates within which Children's National believes an individual's base pay rate will fall for this position. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the maximum of the pay range. The exact pay rate for this position will be based on a variety of factors in alignment with the Children's National compensation philosophy.
