Position Title:Monitor Technician (Level 2-3) - Edmond Department:Telemetry Job Description:
Shift: Full Time; Days 7a-7p

Job Profile Summary

Under limited supervision,willmonitor telemetry set-upon patients.

Essential Responsibilities

Responsibilitieslisted in this section are core to the position. Inability to perform these responsibilities with or withoutan accommodationmay result in disqualification from the position.

  • Responsible formonitoringthe patient once nursing staff have attached patient to the telemetry unit

  • Check foraccuratedate/time printout on rhythm strips

  • Provide daily printings of each patient's rhythm strip

  • Maintainappropriate alarmsettings for each patient

  • Assistin troubleshooting monitor equipment

  • Alert staff when a patient is in crisis

  • Admitnew patients and code telemetry charges into computer system

  • Admits, discharges and/or transfers patients on telemetry

  • Completes and sends Telemetry reports to each unit where patient is monitored

  • PerformECG'sas needed

  • Provide arrhythmia interpretation,measurementand documentation

  • Perform proper maintenance and cleaning of equipment

  • Utilizes Risk Management QM reporting

  • Perform most job duties independently andin accordance withestablished departmental and hospital policies and procedures.

Level II Minimum Requirements

Education Requirements

  • HS Diploma or GEDrequired.

Experience Requirements

  • At least3yearsof experiencerequired.

License/Certification/Registration Requirements

  • Current Basic Life Support issued by the American Heart Associationrequiredupon hire.

  • National Telemetry Association Certification ORCertified Rhythm Analysis Technician (CRAT)Certification Required.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Knowledge of basic arrhythmia interpretation andperformsECG tracings.

  • Relevant computer skills.

  • Good interpersonal skills that allow for developing effective working relationships with staff.

  • Actsas a mentor to newly hired employees andassistswith troubleshooting equipment as needed.

  • Acts as a resource to less tenured staff and provides guidance for escalation of notifications as needed.

Level III Minimum Requirements

Education Requirements

  • Associates degreerequired.

Experience Requirements

  • At least5yearsof experiencerequired.

License/Certification/Registration Requirements
