RNFA CVOR: In addition to the RN position summary, the RNFA is a registered nurse with
specialized education. The development of specific technical skills enables the RNFA to assist the
CV surgeon with cardiovascular procedures. Intraoperatively, the RNFA functions
interdependently with the CV surgeon and applies knowledge, skill, and judgment necessary to
assist the CV surgeon in performing a safe operation that yields optimal results for the patient.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES, LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION REQUIRED:

1. Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
2. Current State of Georgia Registered Nurse License
3. Recent CVOR Operating Room experience
4. Graduate of a recognized RNFA Program required
5. Current BLS and ACLS certification

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES/LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION PREFERRED:

1. Certified in perioperative nursing preferred
