OUR OPENING The IT Director collaborates with the leadership team to develop and execute the company's short and long-term IT strategies. The IT Director is responsible for managing the IT budget, creating, and managing IT policies and procedures, and overseeing the IT department employees. The IT Director will also be responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with key vendors and partners. The vision for this role is to expand a traditional IT services department to be equipped to provide meaningful data allowing business leaders to make informed decisions which provide Journey Group a competitive advantage. This role requires a change agent who can support current operations while driving optimization and continuous improvement. The IT Director must be a bold leader willing to make decisions, own outcomes, and integrate ideas from leadership and business stakeholders. WHAT WOULD YOU DO AS AN IT DIRECTOR?
- Oversees the daily operations of the IT department, including hiring new employees, performance management, coaching, developing, and mentorship.
- Oversees enterprise IT infrastructure including network architecture,
- Develops relationships with Executive, Divisional and Department leaders to become a trusted advisor, providing strategic vision and thought leadership around technology investments and initiatives.
- Defines, refines, and implements the company's long-term technology strategy and roadmap in alignment with business goals and objectives.
- Develops and implements enterprise-wide technical architecture solutions.
- Fosters a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the IT department and organization.
- Leads the IT Change Management Process: Establishing objectives, obtaining executive approval, and championing the process throughout the organization through implementation and adoption with a customer service mindset.
- Partners with business leaders to identify high-value use cases for advanced analytics, AI/ML applications, and automation.* Contributes to Journey Group's strategic planning sessions and establishes annual and quarterly strategic initiatives for the IT department.
- Develops and manages the annual technology budget, ensuring cost-effective utilization of resources.
- Leads digital transformation initiatives in conjunction with company initiatives.
- Purchases equipment and oversees projects to ensure they meet requirements and deadlines.
- Develops business cases and ROI analysis for major technology investments.
- Oversees performance of enterprise business systems including ERP, CRM, HRIS and industry-specific applications for organization.
- Leads ERP Optimization initiatives and manages major system upgrades. Migrations, or implementations.
- Ensures integration and data flow between critical business systems.
- Determines whether new technologies can be integrated into existing systems, can automate procedures, improve efficiency, or reduce costs.
- Manages relationships with key technology vendors and partners, negotiates contracts and service level agreements.
- Ensures completeness of the knowledge base and facilitates completion of needed content.
- Prepare the organization to collect and analyze meaningful data to make informed business decisions.
- Partners with Finance to establish IT cost allocation models and chargeback mechanisms.
- Reviews reports, dashboards, and other data from within the organization for accuracy and compliance with company policies.
- Defines and implements the organization's information security program, policies, and procedures based on industry best practices, relevant legislation, and input from employees. Ensures compliance with CMMC cybersecurity requirements for Army Corps of Engineers and other federal contracting agencies.
- Ensures compliance with all relevant laws and regulations, including data privacy and protection requirements.
- Implements enterprise risk management framework for technology risks, including business continuity planning, disaster recovery, and incident response capabilities.
- Maintain cyber insurance readiness and manages relationships with security auditors, penetration testers, and compliance assessors.
- Stays current with industry trends and best practices, sharing knowledge and insights with the team on a regular basis.
- This position will be required to protect operations by keeping information confidential.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIRED
- A bachelor's degree in business, computer science or related field of study, with 10+ years of progressive experience including a proven track record of successful IT projects and implementations, ITIL or other IT service management experience, and at least 5 years' experience in a technology leadership role, or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential job duties and responsibilities.
- PMP or other project management certification is preferred.
- Experience with the following is strongly preferred: Trimble software products, ProjectMark, Amazon account management, AI tools, estimating and take-off platforms, Oracle Cloud, and Azure.
- Experience in companies with $400M+ revenue or 300+ employees
- Strong project portfolio including ERP implementations, cloud migrations, cybersecurity program development, or digital transformation initiatives.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES NEEDED
- Strong understanding of current and emerging technologies including ITIL (or similar) processes and best practices, and expert level understanding of Microsoft Office suite products.
- Understands and supports the symbiotic relationship between IT and business. The business is IT's customer.
- Has business knowledge with strong understanding of both cost and revenue.
- Strong project management skills.
- Able to communicate at all levels of the organization and adaptable to many personalities.
- Is skilled at explaining highly technical information to a non-technical audience.

- Has a valid driver's license, safe driving record, and evidence of insurability is required to support employees at construction site locations.
- Must be 18 years of age or older to safely work in a construction environment.
WORK ENVIRONMENT / PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Most of the work takes place in an indoor office setting equipped with a computer, desk, phone, and other typical office equipment.
- Must be able to inspect details at close range, interact, communicate, and exchange accurate information consistently.
- Must be able to retain a stationary position for extended periods of time.
- Travel to other locations is occasionally required for meetings, training, and other project needs.
