The Department of Kinesiology & Nutrition at the University of Illinois Chicago (UIC) invites applications for a non-tenure track Research Assistant Professor position. This appointment is focused on conducting research examining the role of immune cells in normal and diabetic wound healing. Position Summary Research Assistant Professor position in the Department of Kinesiology & Nutrition focused on understanding the role of immune cells in normal and diabetic wound healing. Duties & Responsibilities Applicant will be responsible for design and conduct experiments focused on understanding the role of immune cells in normal and diabetic wound healing. These will involve mouse models of wound healing, single cell RNA sequencing, flow cytometry and histological analysis to elucidate novel immune pathways that contribute to normal and impaired healing. Importantly, these experiments should lead to dissemination via publication in peer-reviewed scientific journals and presentations at national and international scientific conferences. The applicant will also be responsible for generating ideas, preparing and submitting new grant applications. Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned. Supervisory experience also required.
