Position Overview

JLL Design is seeking an experienced Strategic Growth Partnerships Lead to spearhead our strategic market expansion into Washington DC as part of our unified North American workplace design strategy. This role is instrumental in establishing JLL Design's footprint in the DC market and driving business development across workplace design sectors through external client acquisition and strategic growth initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Strategy and Sales Leadership - Long Term Vison + Empowering Teams

  • Lead Washington DC market entry and growth initiatives as part of JLL Design's strategic expansion plan
  • Develop and execute go-to-market strategies specifically for the Washington DC metropolitan area position JLL Design as a trusted partner for workplace transformation.
    • Tier One Market Focus: Washington DC, Chicago, San Fran and Toronto
  • Drive external business development across the United States, targeting C-suite executives and key decision makers
  • Set clear target and tracking performance for sustainable growth
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities through strategic client development
  • Inspire and partner with design leadership to align strategic growth initiatives and creative delivery

Monitor competitive landscape and market trends to support JLL Design as differentiator.

External Business Development & Thought Leadership - Partnerships, Opportunities and Subject Matter Expert (SME)

  • Source work through client events, podium conferences, industry speaking engagements, and publish case studies
  • Leverage digital platforms - LinkedIn
  • Build and maintain relationships with C-suite executives across national markets
  • Establish thought leadership positioning in workplace design services
  • Represent JLL Design at industry conferences and networking events to generate new business opportunities
  • Develop and execute client event strategies to showcase JLL Design capabilities

Cultivate alliances with industry organizations to broaden JLL Design's influence and market presence M&A Strategy and Market Development - Growth + Strengthen Position

  • Drive M&A strategy and execution for Washington DC market expansion
  • Evaluate and execute market penetration approaches, including potential acquisitions of boutique workplace studios with established client relationships and local market knowledge
  • Oversee integration planning of acquired firms for alignment of JLL Design's culture and brand identity
  • Lead organic growth strategies by building DC capabilities through strategic recruitment and leveraging JLL's existing network

Primary focus to be on office workplace design to maximize expertise and market impact Partnership and Collaboration - Mutual Benefit + Build Trust

  • Collaborate with senior leadership team including Christina Piper and Susan Chang to align growth strategies across North America
  • Work closely with unified North American team structure to support strategic objectives and sharing best practices across the regions Expand external client relationships within the DC market and nationally

Foster cross-functional partnerships across design, delivery and business development to maximize opportunities and drive integrated growth Required Qualifications

  • Proven track record in the Washington DC commercial real estate or workplace design market
  • Strong executive presence with demonstrated ability to present to C-suite executives
  • Experience in workplace design, architecture, or related professional services
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Experience with M&A activities, deal sourcing, and strategic acquisitions preferred

This position is critical to achieving JLL Design's objective of becoming a workplace design leader across North America through advisory-led growth and market expansion.

Estimated compensation for this position:

174,900.00 - 253,600.00 USD per year

This range is an estimate and actual compensation may differ. Final compensation packages are determined by various considerations including but not limited to candidate qualifications, location, market conditions, and internal considerations.
