The Opportunity

This opportunity to join the Department of Pediatrics at the Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons at the rank of Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at CUMC is an exciting one. Columbia University Irving Medical Center, one of the nation's foremost academic health science centers working together with one of the nation's premier health systems, NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital.

Key Responsibilities



  • Outpatient clinic sessions (8 per week) for pediatric patients with endocrine disorders at Morgan Stanley Children's Hospital with possibility of one other clinic location; inpatient coverage (7 - 8 weeks per year).
  • Supervision and teaching of medical students, residents, clinical fellows
  • Participation in weekly clinical and research conferences as schedule permits.
  • Additional responsibilities at the Chief's directive.


  • Must have a MD or DO degree and an active NYS Medical License
  • Must be Board certification in Pediatric Endocrinology.
  • Consistently strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build and sustain effective working relationships with professionals in other disciplines;
  • The ability to create a high-energy results-oriented work environment that encourages colleagues and staff to value each other's contributions; and
  • The ability to share and celebrate success with colleagues and staff.

The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training.
