ABOUT THE ROLE

The C&I Quality Assurance and Control Mgr is a leadership position that will promote, define, and implement a quality mindset. The position is responsible for managing, directing, and planning quality control and for ensuring field leadership is following and documenting quality control and quality assurance processes. This role requires expert level electrical knowledge and expert level knowledge of commissioning, start-up, and Method of Procedure (MOP) processes. The position will have regular interaction with company leadership, project managers, superintendents, customers, owners and vendors. This position will attend customer interviews, customer kick off meetings and will be involved in a manager level capacity related to shutdowns, startups, and mission critical commissioning.

Essential Functions

  • Assume leadership role for QA/QC functions
  • Develop, review, and improve on existing Quality Control processes
  • Develop training requirements and materials for field leadership (working foremen, superintendents, etc)
  • Administer QA/QC training for field leadership
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with internal and external clients
  • Meet with internal and external customers for prospective work, communicating in a clear, concise and credible manner
  • Review complex shut down plans and MOP's. Coach employees on completing the same
  • Regularly travel to jobsites and perform QA/QC audits
  • Regularly provide guidance to field leadership
  • Perform constructability reviews and sequence of operation reviews to ensure that plans work as intended and are achievable
  • Develop written QA/QC processes and procedures
  • Lead QA/QC meetings with Customers
  • Write complex Method of Operations Procedures (MOPs)
  • Lead, direct, and audit the work of assigned staff; act as a mentor
  • Advise staff of company policy expectations
  • Regular and predictable attendance
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Essential functions of this position are to be performed in a Company-designated office or field location
  • Understand and comply with the Company's Code of Conduct and Ethics and other industry-specific professional and ethical conduct standards, if applicable

ABOUT YOU

Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a lead commissioning authority or quality assurance manager
  • Prior experience in a Mission Critical environment
  • Leadership experience leading teams of 10 or more employees
  • Proven track record of successful mission critical start-up and commissioning

Preferred Education

  • Minimum 5 years of C&I Electrical experience in a leadership capacity (5 years)
  • Minimum 10 years of electrical field experience in a Journeyman capacity (Journeyman Wireman license)
  • High school diploma or GED required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree beneficial

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Expert level knowledge of NEC and local codes
  • Expert level electrical knowledge
  • Ability to read, interpret and perform constructability reviews of complex construction and engineering drawings, specification and standards
  • Proven ability to recognize potential issues and problems during the planning phase
  • Strong understanding of Functional Performance Testing (FPT), Implementation Systems Testing (IST) User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and BAS and EPMS systems
  • Experience in LOTO Management/Supervision/Monitoring
  • Subcontractor management experience
  • Strong analytical skillset
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong computer skills
  • Strong organizational skills

Compensation & Benefits

    • Salary $90,000-$115,000 / year
      • Commensurate with experience, paid weekly. Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. MYR Group reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the qualifications of the selected candidate.
