Job Description:

Occupational Therapy Assistant

Part Time, First Shift

The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) will treat patients; maintain communication with doctors and other health personnel, supervise aides, volunteers, support staff, and students under the supervision of a licensed occupational therapist.

Job Duties:

  • Documents treatment interventions, response and progress in the patient's electronic medical record.
  • Communicates change in status, patient progress and goal achievement with an occupational therapist.
  • Assures continuation of therapeutic plan following discharge by designing home exercise programs; instructing patients, families, and caregivers in home exercise programs; recommending discharge disposition and assistive equipment needs.
  • Provides services to improve functional independence and/or reduce pain.

Requirements:

  • Associate degree or higher in Occupational Therapy
  • Current Certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant by the Kentucky State Board of Occupational Therapy or temporary certification and eligible for certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant by the Kentucky State Board of Occupational Therapy.
