Job Description

Position Summary
The University of Missouri Department of Athletics is seeking an Assistant Director of Player Personnel - Football to support all aspects of player personnel operations for its NCAA Division I Football program in the Southeastern Conference (SEC).

Reporting to the Director of Player Personnel, the Assistant Director will provide operational and strategic support across all positions and units within the program. Responsibilities include recruiting coordination, player evaluation, film breakdown, roster management, staff training, and student-athlete support. The Assistant Director ensures efficiency, NCAA compliance, and contributes to a culture of accountability, development, and performance throughout the program.

Key Responsibilities

1. Recruiting Coordination and Prospect Evaluation (35%)

  • Support the Director of Player Personnel in all player personnel and recruiting needs.
  • Assist with PSA identification, evaluation, and tracking, including film review, background checks, and database management.
  • Support recruiting communication strategies, including outreach to recruits, families, and prospects.
  • Monitor news and trends related to PSA targets to inform recruiting decisions.
  • Cross-train recruiting and player personnel staff in XOS, Arms, talent evaluation, recruiting board management, and film breakdown.

2. Roster Management and Player Tracking (20%)

  • Assist with roster management, scholarship distribution, eligibility tracking, and positional depth planning.
  • Evaluate new players as assigned and maintain accurate records of eligibility, depth charts, and roster composition.
  • Support long-term planning for personnel needs across the entire program.

3. Film and Recruiting Media Support (20%)

  • Cut recruiting film daily for staff and PSA evaluation purposes.
  • Assist with background screening for all recruits as part of F.I.T.T. checks.
  • Manage social media study areas for recruiting purposes and program visibility.
  • Prepare and maintain recruiting video, player evaluation highlights, and analytics reports.

4. Player Personnel Staff Training and Supervision (15%)

  • Assist with onboarding, training, and supervision of part-time and student employees supporting football operations.
  • Train new player personnel interns on procedures, film breakdown, evaluation systems, and recruiting databases.
  • Provide cross-training in multiple platforms and tools to maximize staff efficiency.

5. On-Campus Recruiting and Operational Support (10%)

  • Assist with coordination of on-campus recruiting visits, ensuring a positive and organized experience for all prospects.
  • Support day-to-day operations of the Player Personnel department in alignment with NCAA, SEC, and University of Missouri policies.
  • Collaborate with coaching, compliance, and recruiting staff to ensure program objectives are met.
Shift

Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm; Nights, Weekends, and Travel as required.

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree in related/relevant area or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 2 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications: Prior experience in a NCAA Division I football program.

Anticipated Hiring Range

Salary Range: $53,000 - $63,000/year

Grade: GGS-9E
