Summary: The Yard Hostler (Non-CDL) Operator is responsible for safely operating a diesel-powered yard tractor to move and position trailers within designated loading docks and staging areas on company premises. This role involves conducting pre- and post-operation inspections of the tractor, ensuring compliance with safety protocols, and assisting in the loading and unloading of trailers as necessary. The shift will work: Schedule: Friday, Saturday, & Sunday, 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM What You'll Be Doing: * Conduct pre- and post-operation inspections of the yard tractor, reporting defects and arranging necessary repairs. * Safely attach drive units to trailers or containers and move them to and from dock doors for loading and unloading, ensuring dock locks and chocks are used. * Assist warehouse personnel in the loading and unloading of trailers when required. * Perform daily yard checks to ensure cleanliness and safety standards are maintained. *Remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity or visitors on company premises. *Maintain compliance with company safety rules and regulations. What You Need: A. Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred. B. Experience: Minimum of two years of experience in a similar position. C. Knowledge/Experience/Skills: Valid Class E Driver's License required; CDL within classes A, B, or C preferred but not mandatory. Physical Demands and Work Environment
