Job Description

Position Summary:
This role requires an experienced financial analyst to support a wide variety of projects, which include evaluating potential revenue and investment opportunities, supporting the Company in regulatory proceedings, gaining a strong understanding of the Company's financial systems to aid in system support and development, and other projects. The ideal candidate will be a very detailed-orientated person, organized, expert communicator, and possess the ability to perform tasks independently with minimal direction.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and modify models, as needed, used in analyzing revenue and investment opportunities as well as being able to present and support model to various levels of management throughout the organization.

  • Prepare exhibits and testimony to support the Company in various rate proceedings with the public service commission, with the expectation of being able to defend those schedules during the proceedings.

  • Analyze financial results and the impacts to the organization from both a financial regulatory aspect.

  • Research and analyze information and communicate findings to management both verbally and in writing.

  • Desire to learn and understand the financial systems of the company, which includes gaining an appreciation of the systems' design to assist in problem resolution and identify opportunities for improvement.

  • Managing projects, developing project plans, and monitoring performance.

  • Maintains written policies and procedures, improving workflow, systems and processes, and adapts processes to changing requirements.

  • Bachelor's Degree in accounting, finance, economics or related field required
    CPA or Master's Degree preferred

  • 5+ Years of experience in progressively advancing accounting or financial analysis roles

  • Fundamental analytical and conceptual thinking skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and interpret data, and to identify relevant issues in solving business problems, including evaluating multiple scenarios

  • Demonstrated ability to establish rapport and effective working relationships with business partners, supervisors and peers

  • Excellent communication skills, with an ability to translate data into actionable insights.

  • Demonstrated ability to present ideas logically and concisely to diverse audiences at all organizational levels, both verbally and in writing

  • Demonstrated ability to proficiently access and manipulate data for creating financial analyses and other formal presentations

  • Ability to evaluate business processes, anticipating requirements, uncovering areas for improvement, and developing and implementing solutions.

  • Demonstrated ability to plan and manage projects and to remain flexible and focused on the objective while handling multiple tasks and adapting to changing priorities

  • Flexibility to work extended workdays and/or weekends as required to meet deadlines established by senior management and/or regulatory agencies

  • Proven ability to use Microsoft Office suite applications including Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

We offer a competitive salary range of $83,200 to $122,550 per year, commensurate with experience, education, and skills. In addition, we provide a comprehensive benefits package including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
