Description and Requirements

The Content & Copy Specialist within Motorola's Global Digital Marketing team is responsible for crafting clear, compelling, and channel-appropriate content, primarily across Motorola's global web and CRM platforms (sometimes filling needs for other channels, notably social). This individual will serve as both a creative contributor and an operational collaborator - ensuring that digital content not only meets creative standards but also supports the systems, processes, and cross-functional alignment necessary for effective global deployment.

This role requires an understanding of digital marketing processes and brand storytelling, combined with the ability to operate independently and thoughtfully within a matrixed global organization. The ideal candidate demonstrates mature judgment, proactive problem-solving, and an ability to balance creative excellence with operational precision. Strong English grammar is a must.

The Global Digital Content & Copy Specialist will collaborate closely with web designers, web operations, project managers, product marketing, brand marketing, regional marketing partners, translation support teams, SEO, PR, legal, and external agencies.

Key Responsibilities

Content Development and Strategy

  • Write and edit high-quality, on-brand copy for global web and CRM channels - adapting tone and message to meet audience needs and campaign or communication goals while maintaining Motorola's distinctive voice.
  • Interpret creative briefs and marketing objectives into digital-first messaging that supports campaign, product, and channel goals.
  • Translate complex technical or product details into accessible, engaging language for diverse audiences.
  • Partner with creative, strategy, and design teams to ensure copy and visuals work cohesively across platforms.
  • Contribute to concepting and content planning for product launches, social campaigns, and CRM journeys.

Cross-Functional Collaboration and Process Enablement

  • Support the effective deployment of cross-discipline digital marketing processes and content workflows across global and regional teams.
  • Collaborate with marketing operations and publishing teams to ensure content accuracy, localization readiness, and timely delivery.
  • Negotiate and coordinate with other departments (e.g., PR, Legal, Brand, UX) to secure necessary information and approvals.
  • Assist in documenting and optimizing copy development and review processes to increase efficiency and alignment across teams.

Measurement and Continuous Improvement

  • Partner with analytics and operations to gather performance data and insights related to content effectiveness, engagement, and conversion.
  • Contribute ideas to improve digital content frameworks, editorial processes, and voice/tone consistency across touchpoints.
  • Stay current on trends in digital communication, AI content creation, and audience engagement to inform best practices.

Problem Solving and Professional Judgment

  • Identify and resolve issues or content bottlenecks in alignment with established guidelines.
  • Exercise independent judgment when adapting or prioritizing work to meet business objectives while maintaining brand integrity.
  • Demonstrate flexibility and professionalism in balancing creative, operational, and stakeholder needs

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, English, or related field
  • Minimum 2 years of professional experience in digital content creation, marketing communications, or copywriting

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience within a global or matrixed organization, ideally in technology or consumer electronics
  • Familiarity with AI content creation tools and their use in digital copy development
  • Demonstrated experience writing for digital channels (web, CRM)
  • Very strong command of grammar, syntax, and AP Style
  • Attention to detail and good deductive reasoning skills
  • Capable of interacting with stakeholders and moving projects forward
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Working knowledge of project management tools (e.g. Monday.com)
  • Experience collaborating with brand, legal, and localization teams to adapt global content for regional use
  • Understanding of digital publishing workflows, SEO principles, and accessibility standards
  • Strong interpersonal skills and professional communication style; able to give and receive feedback constructively
  • A proactive mindset - comfortable driving clarity, proposing solutions, and improving processes independently
The base salary budgeted range for this position is $55k - 70K. Individuals may also be considered for bonus and/or commission.
