DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position, your primary responsibilities involve the installation, troubleshooting, maintenance, and optimization of the Center's video camera, telephone, and television systems. Duties include installing and running cables, data lines, and electrical wiring using hand tools, power tools, and drills. You will complete final connections between equipment, data closets, electrical supply boxes, and outlets. Responsibilities also include installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and optimizing interior and exterior video recording equipment. Additionally, you will set up, program, troubleshoot, and repair television systems and maintain and repair telephone system infrastructure. This role requires working safely at all times, including the use of ladders and lifts, while ensuring a safe environment for facility residents during all job tasks. Although primarily assigned to the electrical shop, you may also receive assignments from the paint, carpentry, grounds, and plumbing shops as needed.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
  • Work hours are 1st shift (7:30 AM to 3:30 PM), Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Overtime and travel: As needed
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Two years of experience as a Maintenance Repairman 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Four years of experience in building and plant maintenance work, which has involved at least two of the building, electrical, or mechanical trades; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training that affords the applicant with the Required Knowledges, Skills, and Abilities.

Special Requirement:

  • This position requires possession of a valid Pennsylvania Class C Driver's License.
