Fund Accountant (Private Equity)
Compensation:$75,000-$80,000 base salary + bonus & comprehensive benefits A well-established, privately held investment firm is seeking a Fund Accountant to support its private equity platform. This role offers exposure across the full fund lifecycle and close collaboration with internal investment professionals and external service providers. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Key Responsibilities Fund Accounting & Financial Records
Produce investment portfolio reports and analytical schedules for internal stakeholders Investor Accounting & Capital ActivityPrepare and calculate capital calls, distributions, and related investor allocation schedules Coordinate payment processing and maintain accurate investor records Support investor reporting and ad hoc inquiries related to fund activity Reconciliations & Data IntegrityPerform quarterly reconciliations between internal portfolio management systems and underlying investment-level financial data Investigate and resolve discrepancies in transaction activity Audit & Tax SupportAssist with the annual external audit process, including preparation of audit schedules and supporting documentation Coordinate with external tax advisors on the preparation of partnership tax returns and K-1s Treasury & Cash ManagementPerform daily and periodic cash reconciliations Monitor and manage fund cash positions to ensure liquidity needs are met Stakeholder CoordinationServe as a key point of contact with investors, third-party administrators, auditors, tax advisors, banks, custodians, legal counsel, and other service providers Support cross-functional communication to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting QualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field 2-3+years of experience in fund accounting, public accounting, or alternative investment accounting (private equity experience preferred) Strong understanding of partnership accounting and financial statements Experience working with auditors and tax advisors Proficiency in Excel; experience with fund accounting or portfolio management systems is a plus Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities Why This RoleExposure to a well-capitalized, active private equity platform Broad responsibility across the fund lifecycle Collaborative, professional environment with long-term growth potential Hybrid work schedule in a prime Midtown Manhattan location Vaco by Highspring values a diverse workplace and strongly encourages women, people of color, LGBTQ+ individuals, people with disabilities, members of ethnic minorities, foreign-born residents, and veterans to apply.
