Position Summary: The Court Support Navigator is responsible for providing a welcoming and friendly reception to people visiting the Multnomah County Central Courthouse while assisting court patrons with wayfinding and addressing special needs. The Court Support Navigator is responsible for serving the public entering the courthouse by greeting visitors in the courthouse lobby; directing individuals to informational kiosks, departments, services and courtrooms; answering basic questions about the courthouse; and locating resources within the courthouse for individuals that are requesting accommodations or extra assistance in order to conduct their business. Works in collaboration with courthouse administration and VOA Oregon staff to ensure up-to-date information is available.

Education, Training and Experience:




  • High school diploma or GED required.





  • At least one year of professional reception and/or customer service experience





  • Bi-lingual required





  • Prior experience working within public service setting preferred but not required





  • Experience supervising volunteers or other employees is preferred but not required





  • Knowledge and skills using MS Office and desktop/iPad tools.

Other Eligibility Requirements:

Duties and Responsibilities:




  • Welcome and direct people accessing services at the courthouse.





  • Direct families with children to the CourtCare drop-in childcare center.





  • Respond to inquiries respectfully and determine appropriate solutions to problems.





  • Communicate effectively with visitors utilizing services, as well as with community partners and courthouse staff.





  • Collaborate with court leadership to track the evolving needs of court patrons and identify potential process improvements.





  • Report any suspected problems, incidents, accidents, or other concerns to supervisor as soon as possible.




Other Duties:




  • May coordinate with volunteers for continuum of service.





  • Other duties as assigned by manager.




Supervisory Responsibility: Position is not responsible for supervision of other employees. May provide direction to volunteers.

Schedule: This is a full-time position, 40 hours per week
