Position Summary

The Install Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and supporting HVACR systems in commercial settings. This role involves hands-on technical work, teamwork, and adherence to safety, quality, and manufacturer standards to ensure systems operate safely and efficiently.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Installation & Technical Work

  • Install HVAC equipment including furnaces, air handlers, coils, condensers, ductwork (sheet metal and flex), refrigerant piping, gas lines, and electrical wiring (low and line voltage) in accordance with specifications and applicable codes.

  • Perform refrigeration installations including custom box construction, condenser placement, coil installation, refrigerant lines, drain lines, and electrical connections.

  • Fabricate and install duct systems and fittings as required.

System Setup & Start-Up

  • Perform system start-ups, pull vacuums, pressure test for leaks, program thermostats, and verify proper system operation and performance.

Customer Interaction

  • Communicate professionally with customers, explain work performed or system operation when appropriate, and maintain a clean, professional jobsite and appearance.

Safety & Compliance

  • Follow company policies, safety procedures, and OSHA guidelines related to tools, lifting, heights, and jobsite practices.

  • Ensure all work complies with local codes and manufacturer specifications.

Jobsite Support & Logistics

  • Load and organize trucks, handle materials and equipment, and complete required job documentation.

  • Work collaboratively with lead technicians and team members to complete installations efficiently.

Qualifications & Skills

Technical Skills

  • Mechanical aptitude with the ability to read and understand schematics and basic blueprints.

  • Experience using hand and power tools, brazing and soldering techniques, and basic electrical and gas systems knowledge.

Professional Skills

  • Strong teamwork, communication, and problem-solving abilities.

  • Dependable, punctual, and able to follow instructions and company procedures.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to climb ladders, balance, stoop, kneel, and work at heights.

  • Ability to lift and carry equipment and materials.

  • Ability to work in confined spaces such as attics and crawlspaces.

Credentials

  • Valid driver's license with acceptable motor vehicle record.

  • EPA Certification required.

  • Ability to pass background and drug screening in accordance with company policy.

Work Environment
  • Commercial job sites with exposure to indoor and outdoor conditions, varying temperatures, heights, and tight spaces.
