Your Job

Georgia-Pacific (GP) has an opening for a Lubrication Technician at our Gypsum facility in Antioch, CA. The position is to help ensure that we meet the reliability expectations of our equipment and that we have continuous improvement in reliability processes in our production site. GP employees strive for safety and health excellence while achieving an injury free workplace.

Schedule:
Day shift (6:45am - 3:15pm), overtime and off-shift work may be required
Compensation:
$43.71/hour

What You Will Do

  • Monitor and maintain moving and rotating assets in all areas of the plant
  • Must complete Machinery Lubrication Tech I course and pass testing within first year of hire date
  • Perform condition-based monitoring using thermography, ultrasonic testing, and oil sample reports. Maintain and repair all lubrication systems
  • Maintain adequate oil levels in all equipment. Regrease, change oils on a reoccurring basis according to asset conditions
  • Perform or assist technician team members in making corrective repairs on machines
  • Work to identify lubrication points throughout the facility and help develop and improve lube related preventive maintenance activities
  • Maintain organization and cleanliness of the Lubrication Shop and work areas. Keep inventory of oils, greases, and supplies and report to purchaser for reordering
  • Perform lubrication and service on facility machinery and supporting equipment
  • Demonstrate strong problem solving and decision making skills
  • Work with plant environmental manager to help maintain hazard waste accumulation containment, do environmental checks and reports
  • Effectively communicate both written and verbally
  • Always maintain a "Safety First" mentality and perform your work accordingly
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Experience handling multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience using a computer, tablet, or smart device
  • Experience working with minimal supervision

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Experience with lubrication routes to support equipment regarding maintenance
  • Experience in repairing and maintaining lubrication systems
  • Experience in mechanical maintenance
  • Knowledge of different types of lubricants, their purpose and applications
