Lab Assistant -Shipping & Receiving

We are seeking a Lab Assistant to support our Microbiology laboratory operations. This role is essential for ensuring accurate testing by assisting with sample preparation, maintaining laboratory equipment, and supporting general lab operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with cleaning and preparing glassware, plasticware, and laboratory equipment.

• Support preparation of media and diluents for microbial testing.

• Maintain laboratory organization and perform general housekeeping.

• Monitor inventory and restock consumables as needed.

• Dispose of biological waste safely and according to procedures.

• Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and comply with Health & Safety guidelines, including wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

• Receive, prepare, and set-up samples for analysis
• Enter data, choose analyses, log and approve samples using a LIMS database on a Windows computer workstation
• Process and maintain client samples at correct temperatures
• Segregate samples according to company procedures
• Assist with shipping of customer supplies including return coolers to customers
• Communicate with clients for clarification on orders as needed

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma with a focus on applied sciences or laboratory studies.

• Previous laboratory experience preferred but not required.
