Responsibilities:

The Registered Nurse (RN) will provide specialized, high-quality care to critically ill or premature newborns, ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being. This role requires strong clinical expertise, critical thinking, and the ability to support families during a challenging time.

Responsibilities will include:

* Deliver comprehensive nursing care to premature and critically ill neonates, including monitoring vital signs, administering medications, and maintaining specialized equipment such as ventilators and feeding tubes.
* Perform detailed assessments of neonates physical and emotional health, identifying any changes in condition and responding promptly.
* Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team, including neonatologists, respiratory therapists, and lactation consultants, to develop and implement individualized care plans.
* Provide parental education and emotional support, fostering a family-centered care approach to help parents understand their baby's condition and participate in their care.
* Utilize advanced NICU technology and equipment to ensure the highest standard of neonatal care.
* Assist in preparing neonates for procedures or surgeries and provide post-procedure care.
* Adhere to infection control protocols and ensure the NICU environment is clean and safe.

Qualifications:

* Associate Degree in Nursing
* State of New Mexico or Compact State Nursing License
* BLS certification REQUIRED at time of hire
* NRP and PALS after time of hire
