SUMMARY:

A Compliance Inspector-Electrician travels to provide the required on-site electrical supervision as mandated by State and local law. Their primary function is to support our direct to home installation teams in states such as Wyoming, New Mexico, Oregon and Washington. Candidates must have an active New Mexico ES-3J or greater electrical license in order to provide the required electrical supervision and assistance to our Direct to Home Installers. A Compliance Inspector should expect to work approximately 8-14 hours per day and up to 6 days per week. Currently, the bulk of our work takes place from April-September however we do provide coverage during the "off-season" to support pre-season installation trips. Candidate must be willing to travel to all parts of New Mexico. There is also a potential to extend beyond New Mexico to Oregon, Washington, and Wyoming if properly licensed.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure all low-voltage installations meet the requirements of local and national electrical codes.
  • Applicant must be willing to travel for extended times (weeks/months) to support our Direct to Home installers.
  • Applicant must be capable for working 10+ hours a day, 6 days a week for extended periods.
  • Assist and sometimes train installers/apprentices/trainees with the installation and service of all related electrical work.
  • Applicant must be familiar with operating low voltage testers and power tools.
  • Applicant must be capable of working in tight spaces including closets, crawl spaces and attics.
  • Field calls, texts and emails from sales representatives, sales managers, installers and other company employees.
  • Assist our corporate office with pulling necessary permits for work performed in the field.
  • Provide exceptional customer service living Vivint' s value, "Customer obsession is our advantage".
  • Maintain a professional appearance.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across multiple groups or functions.
  • Extensive low-voltage and electronic security knowledge.
  • Proven ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities across departments.
  • Strong understanding of Inspector market low-voltage code and statute requirements
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety, training, and operational excellence.
  • Must have at least 1 of the following electrical license types; NM ES3J or greater classification, WY LV-G or greater classification, OR LEA or greater classification, WA 06 or greater classification.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP:

Direct report to Manager of Compliance & Inspections

WORKING CONDITIONS:

This role operates in a field environment, using field tools, including hand and power tools, ladders, PPE, and other industry-related equipment.
