Job description

Utz Quality Foods is excited to offer an exceptional Engineering co-op opportunity for students passionate about engineering, data management, and process improvement. As a Production Systems Co-Op, you'll work closely with the Utz Performance Management System (UPMS) team to support data analysis, reporting, and process optimization in a manufacturing environment.


This is a Spring semester program requiring availability from January through May.


Key Responsibilities:



  • Gather and interpret data, analyze results, and produce actionable reports.
  • Develop and implement data collection standards and systems to ensure high-quality data.
  • Identify and correct errors in data through filtering and cleaning processes.
  • Collaborate with the UPMS team to prioritize data and information needs.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and recommend solutions.
  • Partner with IT to develop best practices and requirements for data warehouse reporting.
  • Assist in the design and maintenance of manufacturing databases.
  • Create data visualizations and reports using Power BI.


Desired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:



  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy in data handling.
  • Experience with Python, SQL, or Tableau is a plus.
  • Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with data visualization tools like Power BI.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and maintain a self-starter attitude.
  • Familiarity with statistical packages for analyzing datasets.
  • Desired majors: Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math disciplines, preferably Mechanical Engineering.
