The Human Services Department seeks an experienced professional to become their next Supervising Deputy Public Administrator/Guardian/Conservator!

The Public Administrator/Guardian/Conservator (PA/PG/PC) program with the County of Sonoma investigates, and may administer, the estates of deceased individuals who either had no wills or were without appropriate people willing or able to act as administrators. The PA/PG/PC program also conducts official County investigations into conservatorship matters and acts as the legally appointed conservator for persons found by the courts to be unable to properly care for themselves or their finances.

The Supervising Deputy PA/PG/PC performs highly responsible and specialized activities in the PA/PG/PC program, including overseeing Officer of the Day assignments, scheduling coverage, ensuring daily operations run smoothly, and evaluating program service delivery effectiveness to identify efficiency opportunities and develop policy and procedural recommendations. Additional responsibilities include:

  • Assisting Deputy PA/PG/PC staff in all aspects of their caseload, including developing case management plans, and providing daily feedback, support, and direction
  • Scheduling, planning, and leading various team meetings
  • Conducting one-on-one staff meetings, documenting performance, coaching team members, and providing achievable goals
  • Reviewing the work of Deputy PA/PG/PCs for accuracy and conformance to program policies
  • Investigating, coordinating, and managing services in difficult or complex cases
  • Assisting with property searches, which requires the use of specialized safety equipment such as Tyvek suits and hood respirators
  • Completing field work, attending court hearings, and searching for properties to safeguard assets
