Job Summary: The Supervisor-Dental Office oversees the dental assistants and the implementation of all clinical protocols of the department. Manage the effectiveness of all dental assistant personal. Performs other duties as needed.
Education and Experience: High School Diploma or GED required. Associates Degree preferred. Minimum three years of experience in a high volume dental or medical office required. Minimum one year of public relations experience preferred.
Knowledge and Skills: Proficient people skills (verbal & written communication), proficient with computer data input, word processing, typing, scheduling appointments, And telephone skills. Proficiency in motor skills, hand-eye coordination, dexterity, manual skills is mandatory. Knowledgeable in Axium computer system, able to correlate treatment functions. Interpersonal Skills: Flexibility due to many interruptions. Broad decision making, prioritizing and organizational skills are critical for follow through and completion of duties involving the smooth operation of a busy front office and clinical treatment area. Able to work with people in a tactful and diplomatic manner in person and in writing. Relate well with patients, staff, residents, faculty and administration and other. Able to deal with conflict and criticism objectively. Essential Mental Abilities: Able to process agenda to its maximum capacity with numerous functions occurring at the same time with quality & quantity results. Able to develop & obtain past, present & future data for departmental use. Able to communicate with large number of people present exercising good judgment in sensitive & confidential matters. Must be self-starter who takes initiative to accomplish tasks. Independent decision making ability required. Perform with significant efficiency. Essential Sensory Requirements: Able to see, write, hear, and speak.
Licensures and Certifications: Dental Assisting Certification of completion and/or equivalent training preferred. Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) or Oral Surgery Assistant (OSA) preferred. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association preferred.
