The Engineer - Distribution Automation Support is an experienced professional with knowledge of and some experience in own engineering discipline with a focus on design work in the utility workspace. Under moderate supervision, conducts the following: Designs, develops, tests, implements and supports DMS/DA/DSCADA systems and applications to extend the functionality of these systems to improve operational efficiency. Provides system administration of DA/DSCADA applications and assists with the integration with other applications. Analyzes and provides support for reliability initiatives. Provides assistance to the DOC and field personnel as needed. Key Responsibilities

- Develops, tests, and implements applications to extend functionality of the ADMS, DA and DSCADA systems to improve operational efficiency.
- Documents systems and processes as needed.
- Promptly identifies and analyzes failures and mis-operations of ADMS, DA and DSCADA equipment and/or schemes.
- Responsible for daily monitoring and administration of systems such as AMDS, DA and DSCADA.
- Provides assistance to the DOC and all field personnel as needed and provides training efforts on applications and systems.
- Works with Dist. Operations and ESM personnel to quickly and accurately resolve issues.
- Provides technical and operational support for these applications and assure that KPIs are met.
- Maintains sufficient knowledge of systems supported by the Distribution Automation Group to be an asset in all areas
- Effective in the design and operations of one or more of the systems supported by the Distribution Automation Group
- Assures that supported system(s) operate at peak performance through daily monitoring
Qualifications Required Education, Skills & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited curriculum
- 3-5+ years of related experience
- Step progression levels based on skill proficiency and scope of job.
- Strong business acumen pertaining to the Utility industry
- Strong knowledge of leading practices for their practice area
- Strong planning and project management skills
- Willingness and ability to learn new technologies on the job
- Proficient at functioning effectively within a team environment, present ideas and opinions in a respective and collegial manner
- Progression to this level is strictly restricted based on critical individual capabilities and business requirements; must be supported by market survey data.
