This Position reports to:

ob Title: Material Handlers Coordinator - 3rd Shift

Summary: The Material Handlers Coordinator for the 3rd shift is responsible for overseeing the efficient flow of materials between the warehouse, supermarket, and production lines during night operations. This role ensures that materials are available as needed, inventory is accurately maintained, and the work area adheres to lean manufacturing and 5S principles. The coordinator will also train and mentor other material handlers, showcasing strong leadership skills.

Key Responsibilities:

Kanban & Supermarket Management

• Coordinate the receipt of materials from the warehouse and ensure their transfer to the Supermarket (SM) area during the 3rd shift.
• Supervise the movement of materials from the Supermarket to the line-side rack based on production requirements.
• Monitor and address missing materials, collaborating with the warehouse team for timely replenishment.

Inventory & Material Handling

• Conduct weekly cycle counts to verify inventory accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
• Prepare and return excess or unused materials back to the warehouse efficiently.
• Maintain bin labeling for easy identification and ensure proper organization of materials.
• Manage empty bins to facilitate a continuous flow of materials.

Training & Leadership

• Train and mentor other material handlers, providing guidance on best practices in material handling and inventory management.
• Demonstrate leadership skills by fostering a collaborative and motivated work environment.
• Lead by example in adhering to safety protocols and maintaining high standards of workplace organization.

Workplace Organization & Compliance

• Uphold and maintain 5S principles to ensure a clean, organized, and efficient workspace during the night shift.
• Take responsibility for Automated Process Improvement (API) initiatives in the Supermarket area.
• Adhere to safety protocols to maintain a secure working environment and prevent accidents.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Proven experience in material handling, warehouse operations, or production logistics.
• Basic understanding of Kanban and supermarket management principles.
• Ability to lift and move materials as required for the role.
• Strong attention to detail to ensure inventory accuracy and organization.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
• Basic knowledge of inventory control and material flow processes.
• Understanding of 5S principles and workplace organization.
• Demonstrated leadership abilities and experience in training others.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Kanban systems in a manufacturing or warehouse setting.
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing and Just-In-Time (JIT) practices.
• Forklift or material handling equipment certification (if applicable).
• Previous supervisory or coordination experience in a warehouse or production environment is a plus.
