Software Engineer - 2328448 EMPLOYER: Optum Services, Inc. JOB TITLE: Software Engineer LOCATION: 1 Optum Circle, Eden Prairie, MN 55344 (Telecommuting available from anywhere in the U.S.) DUTIES: Research, design, and develop computer and network software or specialized utility programs. Duties to include: responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of the software product; design and implement testing processes, contribute to the overall improvement of the development process; participate in the full life cycle of Agile projects with in-depth knowledge of SDLC and STLC processes and methodologies; collaborate closely with product owners, project managers, and product teams to groom and review functional requirements, add them to backlogs or iterations, estimate and prioritize features and user stories, identify gaps, report issues, document execution steps, and demonstrate and accept functional solutions, testing enhancements that address and achieve specific customer goals; adhere to version control, release management, and deployment protocols to distribute new functionality to the user base including conducting code reviews, opening pull requests, verifying security reports, and merging remote branch code into the master branch; identify bugs by following software testing strategies and report them in Rally by attaching them to respective iterations; participate in troubleshooting, investigating, and debugging sessions to resolve issues and deliver high-quality code to production users; conduct functional testing, regression testing, integration testing, API testing, smoke testing, sanity testing, and cross-browser testing; execute cross-browser testing by tracking application calls and verifying responses and response codes in browsers including Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Safari, and Mozilla Firefox; create test data based on specific requirements; prepare testing sign-off documents and release checkout documents, and perform pre-production and post-production activities to ensure smooth deployments and operations.
