Job Summary

The National Forensic Science Technology Center is currently seeking a Temporary Field Service Representative to join their team of professionals.

Serves as a Field Service Representative (FSR) for United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) as part of a fast-paced team tasked with Life Cycle Sustainment Activities (LCSA). Manages, conducts, and trains in biometrics and SOF site exploitation activities.

Duties include:

  • Configures, maintains, and employs biometric and forensic equipment in facility and field environments.
  • Advises and assists on equipment and software upgrades, drafts reports, and maintains records.
  • Conducts CONUS and OCONUS EAC inspections.
  • Maintains proficiency in emerging identity intelligence equipment, TTPs, training, data sources, and production requirements.
  • Serves as Sensitive Site Exploitation (SSE) subject matter expert for planning, training, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, updates, and evaluations.
  • Provides SME support during Information Assurance Certification for SSE hardware and software tools.
  • Assists in developing, documenting, and training TTPs for biometric, forensic, CELLEX, and MEDEX hardware and software tools.
  • Researches, develops, and presents written reports and briefings to tactical, command, and executive audiences.
  • Provides SME support to SOF Tactical Biometric, Forensic, and Document/Media Exploitation evaluations (TBE, TFE, TDE) and related identity program technology refresh efforts.
  • Instructs on replacement, refurbishment, and sustainment of biometric and forensic equipment through the SOF Sustainment Asset Visibility Information Exchange (SSAVIE) portal.
  • Instructs on submitting trouble tickets, requisitions, and equipment transfers to SSAVIE via supported units and Property Book Officers (PBOs).
  • Trains and briefs on the Joint Operations Stocks (JOS) program, including loan policy, procedures, accountability, property book reporting, and service/equipment turn-in.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Provides instruction on the process for submitting trouble tickets, requisitions, and transferring biometric collection equipment to SSAVIE via the supported units, Property Book Officer (PBO).
  • Utilizes, briefs, and trains the Joint Operations Stocks (JOS) program in the areas of JOS loan policy, JOS loan procedures for obtaining equipment, JOS accountability/property book reporting process, and JOS service and equipment turn-in.
  • Performs related duties as required or as directed. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.


Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED and five (5) years of office or related experience providing administrative support, or coordinating functions of an office or department.



Desired Qualifications
  • Associate's degree in intelligence, computer science, law enforcement, or forensic science related fields; OR two (2) years of military experience, training/education and related experience required; OR an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience.
  • Secret Clearance with the Department of Defense.
