Why This Role Matters

As the Physical Security Officer, you'll be on the front lines of keeping our members, employees, and facilities safe every day. Working under the direction of the Facilities and Maintenance Manager, you will install, monitor, and maintain security systems, conduct facility inspections, respond to incidents, and assist with day-to-day security operations. Your attention to detail and quick response will help protect our assets and ensure the continuity of operations across all UKFCU locations.

What You'll Do

Daily Security Operations



  • Support the implementation of UKFCU's physical security program under the guidance of the Facilities and Maintenance Manager.
  • Conduct daily reviews of alarms, video surveillance feeds, and access activity logs to identify irregularities.
  • Perform regular inspections of branches and facilities to ensure all systems are operational and compliant with security standards.


Systems Monitoring & Maintenance



  • Monitor, test, and maintain security equipment, including alarms, card access, and camera systems.
  • Coordinate with vendors to troubleshoot issues and schedule maintenance or repairs.
  • Track equipment lifecycles and assist in replacement planning.


Incident Response & Reporting



  • Respond to and document security incidents such as unauthorized access, equipment failures, or safety hazards.
  • Provide initial investigation and escalation to the Facilities and Maintenance Manager and law enforcement when needed.
  • Assist in maintaining accurate incident logs and reporting metrics.


Access & Key Control



  • Manage key issuance, retrieval, and access control card setup for employees and contractors.
  • Ensure proper access levels are maintained and promptly updated following personnel changes.


Training & Awareness Support



  • Support employee training efforts on robbery preparedness, workplace safety, and emergency response.
  • Serve as a security liaison during new branch openings, remodels, or maintenance projects.


Audit & Compliance Assistance



  • Assist with security audits, branch inspections, and documentation requests.
  • Maintain organized records to support NCUA, FFIEC, and internal compliance requirements.


Qualifications

Who You Are

Experience & Education



  • Three to five years of similar or related experience.
  • Associate degree in Criminal Justice, Loss Prevention, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of security risk components, oversight responsibilities, and industry best practices.


Skills & Strengths



  • Strong decision-making and analytical abilities for identifying security risks and implementing solutions.
  • Proficiency in managing security systems, including access control, alarms, and surveillance.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to interact with employees, law enforcement, and vendors.
