Overview:

Under the direction of the clinical manager, performs tasks and activities related to patient care to an assigned group of patients. Provide care for patients in accordance with age-specific needs; provide care in accordance with any identifiable cultural diversity needs (such as religions, lifestyles, beliefs, physical capabilities, and cultures); provide care for patients by assuring effective pain interventions as allowed by their work certification; report and assist any patient that presents with evidence of abuse and/or neglect; and supports the mission of Mercy. Coworkers are expected to abide by Mercy Hospital safety and infection control policies to maintain a safe environment for patients and co-workers.

Qualifications:

• Qualifications & Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Required Licensure: Current CNA certification by the applicable state of practice Office of Long Term Care for nurse's aide training required. Preferred Experience: Patient care experience preferred. Preferred Certifications: Certified in Hospice and Palliative Care for CNA. Preferred Other: Physical Requirements:* Position requires the ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs on a regular basis.* Position requires prolonged standing and walking during each shift.* Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.
