To succeed as a Credit Manager, you must have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, or finance with 10+ years of solid credit risk experience, preferably in a manufacturing or refinery environment.
  • Solid proficiency in SAP, Excel, and PowerPoint, with strong analytical, contract interpretation, and written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to travel as needed and obtain/maintain a TWIC card, with flexibility for occasional extended work hours during key events.
  • Solid ability to solve problems, influence stakeholders, and apply risk-based judgment while operating effectively in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
  • Demonstrated hands-on approach with strong technical, financial, and systems skills, contributing across credit, treasury, and accounting functions as needed.

 

As a Credit Manager, you will:

  • Lead credit risk assessment and monitoring for all counterparties, including setting limits, evaluating financial strength, and managing exposure controls.
  • Maintain credit tools and support treasury/accounting activities such as reconciliations, contract interpretation, and month-end close.
  • Provide analytical support for finance projects, process improvements, system updates, and policy implementation.
  • Partner with Trading, Operations, and other teams to improve processes, strengthen controls, and enhance communication across the business.
  • Drive continuous improvement through process automation, best-practice adoption, and flexible support across all finance functions as priorities evolve.

PEMEX Deer Park is a highly complex refinery located 18 miles east of Houston in Deer Park, TX. It is part of the Pemex group, a fully integrated oil company in the Americas that operates across the entire value chain: exploration, production, industrial processing/refining, logistics, and marketing. The refinery’s rated capacity is 340,000 barrels per day and has the feed flexibility to process multiple grades of crude oil, producing high-quality transportation fuels the world needs. The Pemex site is co-located with other 3rd-party chemical facilities, enabling further integration and optimization of the refinery and its products.
