Join our growing Data Solutions business as a Manufacturing Engineer and lead sophisticated stainless steel orbital tube welding and fabrication processes for our liquid cooling solutions product line. We're seeking a skilled engineering professional with specific experience in orbital welding, ideally stainless steel tubing, to drive manufacturing process optimization and automation initiatives to deliver innovative solutions for our global customers. ** This role will work onsite, 5 days/week, in Anoka, MN. ** WHAT YOU WILL EXPERIENCE IN THIS POSITION:
Optimize manual, semi-automated, and fully automated processes by collaborating with operators, team leaders, and value stream managers to enhance production layouts, streamline material flow, and improve line balancing. Provide hands-on guidance for orbital welding processes, fixture design, and sanitary tube fabrication, including welding fittings and ports for liquid cooling products. Apply lean principles to drive continuous improvement and waste reduction, resulting in enhanced safety, product quality, delivery, and reduced cost. Work with New Product Development (NPD) team to analyze drawings and ensure the new product can be manufactured efficiently and cost-effectively. Submit Capital Equipment requests for new equipment or technology and work with project team members and suppliers to ensure effective integration into production.
YOU HAVE:
Bachelor's (B.S.) degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science/Metallurgical Engineering, Welding Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field. Previous engineering experience in a manufacturing setting with hands-on experience with orbital welding, preferable including stainless-steel tube fabrication. Experience with one or more of the following systems: SolidWorks, AutoCAD, MS Office, ERP (JD Edwards preferred), PLM (Enovia preferred). Experience working with automation equipment preferred. Knowledge of tube cleaning, passivation, electropolish, and/or laser welding is a nice-to-have. Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) credentials or willingness to acquire certification a plus.

nVent's pay scale is based on the expected range of base pay for this job and the employee's work location. Employee pay within this range will be based on a combination of factors including knowledge, skills, abilities, experience, education, and performance. Where federal, state, or local minimum wage requirements exist, employee pay will comply.
Compensation Range: $76,000.00 - $141,100.00
