Job Description

The Quality Engineering Lead is responsible for providing continuous improvement and quality leadership for the Operations organization in East Setauket, NY. You will develop, implement, and maintain technical quality assurance and control systems and activities. You will define and specify the implementation of standards, methods, and procedures for inspecting, testing, and evaluating the precision, accuracy, and reliability of company products. Participates in the reviewing of engineering designs to contribute quality requirements and considerations. Assists product support areas in gathering and analyzing data. Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function. You will report to the Site Manager. You will work onsite from East Setauket, NY.

Your Responsibilities:
  • Actively participates in the development and prioritization of improvement strategies and Rockwell Operating System (ROS) quality programs as a member of the Operations Leadership Team.
  • Manages all aspects of the East Setauket Quality department including but not limited to in-process manufacturing, purchased materials, and customer quality documentation requirements.
  • Create and manage the Quality and ROS programs within the manufacturing processes to include continuous improvement, training systems, process controls, and manufacturing Quality planning.
  • Prioritize and manage manufacturing Quality department objectives and projects.
  • Interface and coordinate with commodity SQEs to ensure supplier corrective actions.
  • Interface with the Operations Leadership team and other RA personnel to establish the business objectives, strategies, and priorities for operational improvements
  • Planning, establishing, directing and co-coordinating the local quality assurance procedures required to maintain an ISO 9001 quality management system to meet corporate quality policies.
  • Ensure Customer Quality issues on matters related to customer satisfaction and overall product quality.
  • Drive post shipment customer product quality issue resolution.
  • Meet customer pre/post shipment quality requirements including but not limited to FAI and/or waivers.
  • Analyze & evaluate customer feedback to drive resulting improvements - Voice of Customer (VOC) into Business Units.
The Essentials - You Will Have:
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent years of experience
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.
  • The ability to travel 5% of the time.
The Preferred - You Might Also Have:
  • 2+ years of leadership experience
  • 5+ years of quality engineering experience
  • Certification in LEAN, Six SIGMA Black Belt, CQM, AQE
  • Preference given to candidates with a PEO P.Eng. license, and designations in American Society for Quality (ASQ) and/or Certified Quality Engineer (CQE)
  • Candidates with working experience in Engineered-to-Order (ETO) Electrical/Electronics systems manufacturing; working in environments with formal quality management (ISO9001) & production systems
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and managing teams.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills required for procedure writing and communication when dealing with all levels of the organization.

For this role, the Base Salary Compensation is from $98,720-$148,080 with an annual target bonus of 5% of base salary. Our benefits for the US can be found here. Actual pay will be based on factors such as skills, knowledge, education, and experience.
