Role Summary The Sr Analyst, Commercial Development is a key contributor to the Commercial Development team, responsible for delivering actionable insights, analytics, and reporting that drive category growth, customer partnership, and enable executional excellence. This role supports the development and deployment of commercial strategies, collaborates cross-functionally, and enables best-in-class execution through data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities Data Analysis & Insight Generation
- Possess strong analytical skills with proven ability to extract, manipulate, and synthesize data from various sources.
- Analyze complex datasets and translate findings into actionable insights that support strategic decision-making and commercial strategy.
- Ensure insights are clearly communicated and aligned with business objectives to inform planning and execution.
Insight-Led Strategy Development
- Support the integration of internal priorities and insights into actionable commercial strategies.
- Assist in the development and refinement of 4P strategies (Product, Price, Promotion, Placement) in partnership with the CD Manager and cross-functional teams.
- Leverage consumer and shopper insights to inform planning, execution, and reporting.
- Champion a culture of insight-driven decision-making and continuous learning.
Channel Strategy & Category Support
- Provide analytical support for channel strategy development, ensuring alignment with category and brand objectives.
- Contribute to the creation and refinement of category roadmaps, growth drivers, and activation tactics.
- Support the CD Manager in developing and deploying Commercial Action Plans (CAP) and New Item Execution Plans.
Customer Segmentation & Planning
- Assist in the development and refinement of customer segmentation models to prioritize strategic partnerships.
- Provide category and segment insights to selected customers and field sales teams.
- Support the integration of customer plans with innovation pipelines and portfolio strategies.
Strategic Execution, Reporting & Measurement
- Support the deployment of Commercial Action Plans (CAP) across national and channel teams.
- Prepare and deliver presentations, communications, and reporting to support business planning and execution.
- Ensure forecasting accuracy, monitor performance targets, and contribute to segmentation/resource allocation.
- Communicate results of initiatives to internal and external key stakeholders, providing feedback and recommendations.
Omni-Channel Activation
- Assist in the development and maintenance of omni-channel strategy and execution playbooks.
- Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, and Supply Chain to support seamless execution of channel strategies.
Distribution Strategy Support
- Provide analytical support for multi-year distribution strategies and governance processes.
- Monitor and report on distribution execution and supply resolution.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with the CD Manager, Strategic Planning Managers, and other cross-functional partners (Sales, Marketing, Finance, Supply Chain, CIH, CMI) to ensure strategic alignment and executional readiness.
- Adopt new ways of working and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Capability Building & Continuous Improvement
- Challenge current processes and generate innovative suggestions to improve performance.
- Take initiative and act with minimal direction to resolve issues and drive results.
Key Experiences/Requirements
- Minimum 18 months of experience in sales, customer facing roles, or other relevant professional experience required.
- Bachelor's degree required.
- Ability to meet or exceed critical metric goals.
- Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
- Proficiency with syndicated data inclusive of retrieving of the data and analysis for insight gathering
- Strong analytical and presentation skills.
- Effective time management and ability to execute with minimal direction.
- Ability to influence without authority and proactively find opportunities beyond assigned role.
- Knowledge of interrelationship of key functions and their initiatives (Sales, Marketing, Finance, HR, Supply Chain, Technical, IS/IT).
- Proven knowledge of business-driving technology solutions (e.g., Circana/Nielsen, BW, PBI reporting) and internal/external industry insights and trends.
- Knowledge of core business processes and fundamentals (Sales/Distribution, Customer Planning, Financial Reporting, Training, HR Policies, Coordinated Commercial Planning, Management and Leadership Principles).
