THE POSITION

The Opportunity The Senior Accounting Assistant in Tax Roll Administration is a lead position reporting directly to the Tax Roll Administration Supervisor. The Tax Roll Administration unit consists of a team of nine members: the Supervisor, two Data System Specialists, two Senior Accounting Assistants, one Geographic Information Systems Technician II, and three Administrative Specialists II.
The Tax Roll Administration unit works closely with the Appraisal, Tax, and Cartography business units to perform a variety of assessment administration duties. The role of the Senior Accounting Assistant is to ensure that the data on the primary computer system, Assessment and Tax Pro, is accurate and complete. This position requires strong computer and data skills, along with the ability to work with different business systems and/or applications. Sound judgment is essential when dealing with unusual or complex business cases. Additionally, strong communication and collaboration skills are required when working with subject matter experts in other business units to resolve issues and ensure accurate calculations.
This position may have the option for remote work 1-2 days per week.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
-
Education and Experience: A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:
- Possession of an Associate's Degree in accounting, business, or related field AND two (2) or more years of work experience related to accounting, bookkeeping, or fiscal management; OR
- Accounting Certificate (12 months) AND three (3) or more years of work experience related to accounting, bookkeeping, or fiscal management; OR
- Five (5) or more years of work experience related to accounting, bookkeeping, or fiscal management.
Additional Requirements:
- Must be able to pass a criminal background check post-offer.
