How You'll Help Transform Healthcare:Field Service Technician - Level I
Installs and supports both voice and data peripheral technologies, including but not limited to PCs, laptops, printers, mobile phones, tablets (including other wireless handheld devices) and telephones. Provides on-site and remote equipment troubleshooting and repair for all technologies to ensure operational effectiveness of the organization. Assists vendor and other technology teams with the initial troubleshooting of connectivity and hardware/software related issues. Aids with onsite and remote observations of technology issues in efforts of helping provide client issue resolution.
  • Interfaces with clients, vendors, and multiple teams while providing resolution to problem incidents as escalated from the service desk or other teams.
  • Performs installation and configuration of desktop hardware and peripherals in the enterprise. These include, but are not limited to: PCs, Laptops, Thin Computing Devices, Phones, Mobile Phones, Tablets/Handheld Wireless Devices and Printers.
  • Performs installation/deinstallation of ports for both data and telephony needs.
  • Interface with clients, vendors, and multiple teams on small scale projects involving installation of and changes to desktop assets.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in multiple technologies (desktop/laptop hardware, printers, telephony).
  • Manages small projects and meets deadlines with moderate supervision from more experienced peers, Supervisor and/or Manager.
  • Assists with larger scale projects as needed.
  • Serves as (SME) Subject Matter Expert for at least one technology
  • Assists in writing Knowledgebase Documents
  • Adheres to departmental policies and procedures to assure prompt resolution to identified problems.

What We Require:

Education: Associates Degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.
Experience: Minimum two years experience in computer electronics, PC and/or telephony support. Experience in microcomputers and supporting desktop hardware/software required.
Licensure, certification, and/or registration: Valid Virginia drivers' license and dependable transportation. CompTIA A+, Dell Hardware, Certification (WPD). Additionally, any one of the following are preferred, but not required: Avaya ACA / Avaya ACIS, CompTIA Network+, Comp TIA, Project +, CWNA, Microsoft MCP, Microsoft Specialist Windows 7, Windows 10, Microsoft MCSA Windows 7, MCSA Windows 8, HP Sales, Certified " Imaging and Printing Fundamentals along with certifications for individual current Enterprise Models on the Carilion Printer Fleet.
Other Minimum Qualifications: Good organizational skills, analytical, dependable, detail oriented, interpersonal skills, and understanding of the English language (both written and oral). Must have excellent problem solving skills and be customer service oriented.
