Job Summary and Responsibilities

Acentra Health is looking for a Vice President, Operations (East) to join our growing team.

Job Summary:

The purpose of this position is to provide overall planning, direction, and control to assigned lines of business to achieve operating and financial goals. This role partners closely with Business Development to drive regional growth, identifying new market opportunities and support strategies that expand the organization's footprint. The VP, Operations will foster innovation by leading teams to integrate AI-driven insights and automation that enhance efficiency, service quality, and client outcomes.

Job Responsibilities:

Operational Leadership & Growth

  • Establish operational expectations to ensure assigned programs achieve financial and contractual targets.
  • Partner proactively with Business Development leadership to identify and pursue opportunities for organic and strategic growth within assigned regions.
  • Contribute operational expertise during proposal development, RFP responses, and client presentations to strengthen competitive positioning and ensure operational readiness for new business.

Innovation & AI Enablement

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Operations, IT, Analytics, Clinical, and Business Development) to implement AI-enhanced tools, automation, and data-driven decision support systems.
  • Promote a culture of innovation by identifying opportunities to infuse AI into day-to-day clinical and administrative tasks. Encourage teams to take an AI first approach, share best practices across the portfolio.
  • Ensure alignment of AI initiatives with organizational strategy, compliance standards, and performance goals.

Workforce Optimization

  • Ensure headcount is right-sized to the operation, considering centralization opportunities, volume fluctuations and new customers, while meeting workload and financial targets.
  • Develop and maintain an operational infrastructure that includes employee skill set requirements, gap analysis, performance management, and training plans.
  • Create and implement effective retention plans in conjunction with Human Resources.

Performance & Compliance

  • Ensure teams deliver exquisitely. Comply with contractual requirements within the operation by monitoring critical indicators, deliverables, and budgets.
  • Monitor contract deliverables and develop measurement and audit methodologies and proactive action plans, as needed.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders in implementing performance measurement reporting systems to monitor compliance with existing policies, procedures, and external standards (URAC, ISO, etc.).

Strategic Collaboration

  • Build and maintain trusted relationships with key market influencers and customers to support new business acquisition and client retention.
  • Drive and support a "one-company" orientation by collaborating across departments-operations, human resources, IT, business development, data warehouse, and contract compliance-to enhance operational efficiencies and growth opportunities.

Representation & Communication

  • Make presentations to senior management and external partners on operational performance, innovation, and strategic initiatives.
  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for assigned programs and represent the company's healthcare suite of services in business development and partnership forums.
  • Read, understand, and adhere to all corporate policies including policies related to HIPAA and its Privacy and Security Rules.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications/Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, business administration, public health, nursing, health information administration, or business related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in program management within a complex healthcare environment.
  • Proven success in collaborating with Business Development and contributing to revenue and market expansion.
  • Demonstrated experience leading AI or automation initiatives in healthcare or operations.
  • Strong understanding of contract administration, compliance, and performance metrics.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and change management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and common data visualization or automation tools.
  • Ability to travel up to 25%.

Preferred Qualifications/Experience:

  • Master's degree.
  • Experience in utilization management, managed care, disease management, or related clinical operations.
  • Expertise in strategic planning, tactical implementation, and business development support.
