Nexus Family Healing, Gerard campus is looking to add a Facilities Supervisor to join our team!

Pay/Schedule:

  • Starting Salary: $67,000 - $69,000 annually
  • Full-time, Monday - Friday. Occasional on call evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

Position Summary: The Facilities Supervisor leads the maintenance, grounds keeping, utility systems and housekeeping functions of the operating Agency or location. This position is responsible for coordinating and monitoring renovation, repair and construction projects at the Agency while adhering to all rules, regulations and codes relating to the safety and security of the buildings, grounds, residents, staff, and visitors.

Primary responsibilities:

Project Oversight & Agency Maintenance

  • Maintains the plant and grounds of the Agency ensuring all projects and responsibilities are completed in a timely manner.
  • Directs and supervises maintenance, housekeeping, contract personnel, renovation coordinators and crews; enlists and works with contractors with vendors to provide high quality and cost-effective services to Nexus.
  • Inspects completed work for conformance to blueprints, specifications and standards and inspects building structures for problems and, if necessary, initiates and provides Facilities Technicians with performance feedback.
  • Develops project plans and determine costs for building and grounds improvements; provides Agency operational and/or senior leaders with pertinent and timely communication around project and task progress.
  • Monitors the ongoing progress of work orders and projects to ensure work is being performed timely and effectively.

Resident Maintenance & Oversight

  • Coaches residents in areas of plumbing, electrical and carpentry skills to develop self-sufficiency.
  • Partners with the vocational department and school district in creating training programs and work sites for residents on campus.
  • Instructs and monitors the safety of residents while working on projects and handling potentially hazardous or harmful materials and supplies.

Facility Vehicle Maintenance

  • Ensures vehicles are driven and routinely monitored for performance and maintenance needs; ensures routine service and maintenance is scheduled.
  • Ensures valid licensing and registration is maintained for vehicles and conducts research and provides input for vehicle purchases.

Goods & Services Procurement

  • Procures and purchases all maintenance, cleaning and renovation supplies and materials; communicates with and secures management approval for significant purchases over a pre-determined amount.
  • Ensure purchases are within budgetary guidelines; participates in the annual budget development process and manages the current department budget.
  • Coordinates and supervises the receiving and stocking of purchased goods onsite; ensures all supplies are organized, labeled, and stored.
  • Coordinates, communicates, and schedules for pickup of donations.

Talent training, development & Performance Management

  • Actively participates in the interview and selection process of Nexus talent; works with Talent Acquisition to conduct thorough reference checks to satisfy Nexus' and licensing requirements.
  • Supervises and participates in the formal process to orientate, mentor, train and develop staff within Nexus; ensures the process is consistently and effectively administered.
  • Provides performance feedback for staff on an ongoing basis and conducts formal performance evaluations that are timely, meaningful and constructive; consults with HR in aeras of employee performance improvement.
  • Collaborates with Human Resources, providing insight and input on new and existing job descriptions to ensure position descriptions are consistent with actual duties performed.

Nexus Family Healing Policy, Procedure & Compliance

  • Understands and remains in compliance with federal, state, and local ordinances and Life Safety Codes; ensures enforcement of fire and safety codes.
  • Provides training to all staff regarding emergency and safety procedures; adheres to Home Office and Agency policies and procedures and participates as a regular member of the Safety Committee.
  • Attends staff meetings and training sessions as required by Nexus and/or state agencies adheres to department attendance and punctuality an understands and supports the Nexus philosophy and treatment modalities.
  • Ensures confidentiality regarding residents' issues, background, and treatment; complies with Nexus policies involving resident privacy and confidentiality procedures for residents and their families.
  • Displays ethical conduct and professionalism at all times; with particular emphasis on maintaining healthy relationships and appropriate boundaries with clients and protecting client confidentiality.
  • Continually seeks knowledge of and an understanding of differences in gender, race, age, culture, ethnicity, class, religion, and disability eliminating biases toward differing talents, abilities, and sexual orientation.
Requirements

Required Education and Licensure:

  • 5 years related experience required; 1 year supervisor and a related vocational degree preferred.
  • First Aid/CPR/Infection Control Certification required annually.
  • Valid driver's license required. Must meet state regulating agency and Home Office driving requirements.
  • Boiler License or the ability to obtain and maintain a Boiler Operator License.

Nice to Have:

  • 7+ years experience; with 3+ years experience leading teams.
  • 1+ year experience with plumbing, heating, boiler operations, air conditioner, electrical, emergency power and generator repair, fire alarm repairs, sprinkling systems repairs, vehicle maintenance, understanding of construction, carpet and vinyl application and minor repairs. Ability to use power tools safely.
