Position Description

The Case Manager provides case management and program coordination to support students registered with Student Disability Services. This position conducts intake meetings, reviews accommodations, and offers short-term academic and personal counseling to promote student success.

Major/Essential Functions

Provides short-term, academic and personal counseling to students with disabilities, including discussing academic progress, tutoring support, study skills, time management, and organization strategies, as well as other areas of skills or concern that might affect the student's academic progress. Collaborates with the TECHniques Center staff for students registered with both programs and maintains a close working relationship with all university departments that offer assistance on individual student cases.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities


  • Knowledge of ADA laws as it applies to Higher Education.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong managerial skills.
  • Crisis management skills.
  • Ability to multi-task.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a closely related field and two years of experience working with individuals with disabilities. Additional education can substitute for years of experience on a year-for-year basis.

Preferred Qualifications

Master's degree in Higher Education, Psychology, Counseling, or other related field of study directly related to assigned work. One year of college student counseling experience.
