Position Summary

The Philanthropic Relationships Manager is a key revenue-generating position responsible for advancing Aeon's mission of providing and preserving affordable homes through strong philanthropic partnerships. Reporting to the Director of Advancement and Resident Connections, this individual is charged with driving significant contributed revenue from individual and corporate donors to sustain and grow Aeon's impact.

This role focuses on building and deepening relationships with Aeon's community of supporters, strategically cultivating new prospects, and stewarding ongoing partnerships to inspire continued investment. Working collaboratively across departments, the Philanthropic Relationships Manager develops personalized engagement strategies, manages a portfolio of donors and corporate partners, and ensures an exceptional stewardship experience that strengthens Aeon's financial sustainability and community presence.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Donor Cultivation and Stewardship (70%)



  • Manage a portfolio of individual and corporate donors, focusing on building and maintaining strong, long-term relationships.
  • Develop and implement tailored cultivation and stewardship plans that align donor interests with Aeon's mission and strategic priorities.
  • Conduct regular outreach-including one-on-one meetings, personalized communications, and property tours-to deepen donor engagement.
  • Collaborate with Advancement staff to prepare compelling donor materials, presentations, and impact reports.
  • Support leadership and board members in donor engagement and solicitation activities.
  • Identify and manage opportunities for corporate sponsorships, employee engagement, and workplace giving programs that advance Aeon's mission.
  • Ensure consistent donor recognition to strengthen trust and long-term commitment.


Events and Donor Experiences (20%)



  • Collaborate with team members to promote and execute meaningful donor events such as Aeon's annual breakfast event, community tours, and grand openings.
  • Partner with the Advancement and Marketing teams to design experiences that authentically connect donors to Aeon's mission and residents' stories.
  • Work with Aeon's Content Strategist to develop creative approaches to deepen donor engagement through mission-focused storytelling and hands-on experiences.
  • Track participation and engagement metrics to assess success and inform future strategy.


Team Collaboration and Strategy (10%)



  • Contribute to the development and execution of Aeon's annual fundraising plan and relationship management strategies.
  • Collaborate across departments to ensure consistent donor messaging and coordinated engagement efforts.
  • Support organization-wide initiatives that strengthen Aeon's visibility, community partnerships, and philanthropic growth.
  • Support competitive and industry research to inform Advancement strategies.
  • Participate in team learning and equity initiatives that promote inclusive, community-centered fundraising practices.



Skills & Qualifications



  • Minimum 5 years of experience in donor relations, fundraising, or relationship management.
  • Proven success in cultivating and stewarding individual and/or corporate donors.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to inspire and engage diverse audiences.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with attention to detail and follow-through.
  • Commitment to Aeon's mission of providing affordable housing and promoting housing stability.
  • Experience with CRM databases (e.g., Salesforce, Raiser's Edge, etc.).
  • Background in event planning, sponsorship management, or donor engagement programs.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic, mission-driven environment.
  • Understanding of principles of diversity, equity, and inclusion in philanthropy.
  • Demonstrated ability to engage in interpersonal communication that is culturally responsive, ensuring consideration for differing needs and expectations.
  • Must have a commitment to learning and participating in Aeon's diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts.
  • Physical Requirements:

    • Ability to lift up to 10lbs.
    • Ability to reach above and below the shoulder height.
    • Ability to sit and stand for extended periods.
    • Ability to conduct property visits: Includes walking through hallways, stairwells, leasing offices, common areas, and vacant or occupied apartment homes. This may involve navigating multiple floors and uneven surfaces.





Compensation, Hours & Location

This position has a range of pay between $70,000 - $90,000 annually depending on qualifications and skillset. Aeon offers a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term and long-term disability, retirement plan, generous paid time off and an employee assistance program.

This full-time position offers mostly Monday-Friday, daytime hours. Typical work schedules are 8:30am-5pm, but there is some flexibility in these hours to accommodate the needs of the position and the staff person. Variations to this schedule may occur given the needs of the position.

This is a hybrid position and will office out of Aeon's Central Office in the North Loop of Minneapolis with regular on-site visits to Aeon's properties throughout the Twin Cities. Most weeks this position will be in-person on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. This position may office remotely from time to time. When working remotely, the candidate is required to travel to and from Aeon properties for urgent or unplanned matters and for regularly planned on-site visits, trainings, and meetings. As such, candidates must either currently reside in and around the Twin Cities metro area, or plan to relocate to accommodate regular planned and unplanned on-site needs.
