Team Industrial Services
United States, Texas, Corpus Christi
1401 Cathead Road (Show on map)
Nov 14, 2025
Description

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead or support RBI assessments for fixed equipment (pressure vessels, piping, tanks, exchangers) using recognized methodologies and software tools (e.g., PCMS, Meridium, Capstone, API RBI, Antea).
  • Evaluate probability of failure (POF) and consequence of failure (COF) through corrosion modeling, degradation rate analysis, inspection history, and process conditions.
  • Develop and maintain corrosion circuits, damage mechanism assessments (DMAs), and risk-based inspection plans in alignment with API 580/581.
  • Review and interpret inspection reports (NDE, API, CWI, UT, RT, etc.) to validate RBI assumptions and update risk models based on new data.
  • Support mechanical integrity (MI) programs through engineering evaluation of inspection data, corrosion monitoring, and integrity assessments of pressure equipment.
  • Perform and document Fitness-for-Service (FFS) evaluations in accordance with API 579, integrating results into RBI models and inspection strategies.
  • Assist with or lead root cause failure analyses (RCFA) and help establish or refine integrity operating windows (IOWs) to control degradation risks.
  • Communicate RBI outcomes to client mechanical, reliability, process, and inspection teams to ensure inspection strategies align with asset conditions and operational objectives.
  • Participate in audits, QA/QC reviews, and development or refinement of RBI procedures, workflows, and MI documentation.
  • Support turnaround and outage planning by providing risk-based prioritization of equipment and recommended NDE techniques.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, or related technical discipline.
  • 3+ years of experience in RBI, asset integrity, mechanical integrity, corrosion engineering, or similar roles in industrial environments.
  • Working knowledge of relevant industry codes (API 510, 570, 579, 653, API 580/581, ASME B31.3/Section VIII).
  • Experience with IDMS and RBI platforms such as PCMS, Meridium, Capstone, API RBI, Antea, or equivalent.
  • Strong analytical skills with proven ability to interpret inspection data and generate actionable engineering recommendations.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, including report writing and technical presentation abilities.
  • Ability to travel, work in field environments (confined spaces, heights, outdoor conditions), and support client needs during outages or extended operations.
  • Strong work ethic with a safety-first mindset.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • API 510, 570, 653, or API 580, 571 certifications (or relevant experience supporting these programs).
  • Experience with corrosion modeling, materials selection, or coatings/linings evaluations.
  • Prior work supporting refinery, petrochemical, midstream, or power MI/RBI programs.
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools (Excel, Power BI, Crystal Reports, etc.).
  • Professional Engineer (PE) or Engineer-in-Training (EIT) credential.
  • Current TWIC, OSHA 10/30, or other applicable safety training.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, climbing, and crawling.
  • Tolerance to hot, cold, and loud environments.
  • Manual dexterity and visual acuity required for detailed inspections.
