This position is located in Ft. Meade, Maryland. The core working hours are 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. The hourly wage is $39.79. This is a non-exempt position. Employees are eligible for overtime pay. This is a full time position offering a competitive salary and a comprehensive benefits package. A minimum of NICET Level I - Fire alarm certification is required for this position. Fire/Electrician I Combination Technician is responsible for the testing/inspection, installation, commissioning and troubleshooting of low voltage systems, including, but not limited to, fire alarm systems, communication systems, and sound systems. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
*All tasks above are Essential Functions PHYSICAL QUALIFICATIONS Must be able to sit 20% of the time and stand/walk 80% of the time; must be able to stoop, kneel, crawl, lift, carry, push and/or pull 30 lbs.; must be able to speak, hear and see. All of these requirements are necessary in order to properly accomplish all essential functions within this job description. QUALIFICATIONS High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED) with three or more years of related experience, to include: working with addressable and conventional fire alarm systems; and familiarity with Notifier, Simplex, and Siemens systems. Knowledge of fire sprinkler systems is a plus. Must possess a valid driver's license and maintain a good driving record. Must be able to meet contract security requirements. Minimum of NICET Level I - Fire alarm certification. Must possess knowledge of computer programming and technologies related to fire alarm, security and other low voltage systems. Knowledge of current state regulations and codes required. Ability to read schematics and follow written direction while working under minor supervision.
