We are seeking a dedicated Operations Technician / Class A Driver to join our team at our Long Beach, CA plant. This role offers a dynamic blend of hands-on plant operations and professional driving responsibilities. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in a safety-focused, fast-paced environment and demonstrate strong teamwork and multitasking abilities.

This isa shift position working primarily Monday through Friday, which is responsible for filling and shuttling cryogenic trailers a short distance throughout the plant.

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Plant Operations
    • Work in a plant environment, filling high-pressure and cryogenic product containers.
    • Perform product analysis to ensure quality standards are met.
    • Conduct equipment inspections and routine maintenance.
    • Load and unload trailers, including bulk cryogenic liquid chemical trailers and ISOs.
    • Offload bulk materials as required.
    • Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts, electric pallet jacks, tractors, and trailers.
    • Utilize SAP to process orders, generate shipping documents, maintain accurate inventory through cycle counts, and resolve customer complaint notifications.
  • Driving Duties (20-40% of time)
    • Safely operate as a Class A driver, transporting cryogenic liquids or high-pressure gas in tankers, containers, and trailers throughout the plant.
    • Cross the main public road adjacent to the plant as part of routine driving responsibilities.
  • Safety and Teamwork
    • Take ownership of basic safety responsibilities and actively participate as a member of the safety team.
    • Adhere to all company policies and local plant safety practices.
    • Foster a team-oriented work environment and always demonstrate safe work habits.

Work Schedule

  • 8-hour shifts, Monday through Friday 8am - 4:30pm with occasional weekend work required.
  • Flexibility with shift schedules as business needs dictate.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Licensing: Valid Class A CDL with Hazmat and Tanker endorsements or willing to obtain; minimum of 3 years of recent safe driving experience.
  • Driving Record: Clean driving record.
  • Experience:
    • Experience in plant operations is preferred but training will be provided for qualified candidates.
    • Military experience or technical training is a plus.
    • Electrical, instrument, or mechanical maintenance experience is advantageous.
  • Skills:
    • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude.
    • Basic computer skills; SAP knowledge is a plus.
    • Strong communication skills.
    • Ability to multitask and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Physical Requirements:
    • Ability to handle & maneuver cryogenic liquid containers and gaseous cylinders.
    • Capable of safely climbing trailer ladders.
  • Personal Attributes:
    • Self-starter with strong motivation.
    • Team player committed to a collaborative work environment.
    • Flexible and reliable.

This is a safety sensitive position.

Starting rate is $35.95/hour, PLUS potential overtime and bonus. (This role is a ladder position, and advancement is possible based on experience and demonstrated competency).
