Job Overview

The Engineer I supports Continuous Improvement (CI) and Manufacturing Excellence (ME) initiatives in the manufacture of medical devices used to provide temporary circulatory support for the treatment of acute heart failure.

Job Responsibilities and Essential Duties



  • Project: Digital transformation of Device History Records (DHR), implementation of a Manufacturing Execution System (MES) - Cost savings and cost avoidance through replacement of physical paper records.

    • As a group member, plan, organize, and execute implementation of the improved administration flow into the Enterprise Resource Planning software (SAP), with the goal of increasing productivity and access to process input/output data.
    • Observe the process and collect data, to gain an understanding of the requirements and details of the current work flow.
    • Gather and document input and feedback from stakeholders and SMEs, for evaluation and prioritization into the system design.
    • Participate in train-the-trainer sessions, develop and lead training to end users and engineers tasked with system maintenance.
    • Support Global IT Project Management with local system implementation.


  • Create, revise, and/or implement Quality System documentation into the documentation control system.
  • Participate in writing Technical Files, attending interdepartmental meetings and reviews, and capture of meeting minutes.
  • May assist Manufacturing Engineering in work cell and production line balancing, line layout design, time and motion studies.
  • May assist in assessing CI and cost of non-conformance initiatives for progress, outcome, and business impact.



Minimum Requirements

* Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline.
* Minimum GPA of 3.0.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

* Excellent written, communication and organizational skills, with keen attention to details.
* Strong interpersonal and team-working skills.
* Advanced computer software proficiency: MS Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Teams.

This is a "Defined Term" assignment that will last approximately 12 months or until project is complete. Defined Term employees areeligible for mostbenefits (including health insurance and paid time off) while on assignment.

Pay Rate: $85,000 - $95,000 / year
