Come join us at ChristianaCare! ChristianaCare is looking for a full-time Service Assistant I - PACU to transport patients to and from PACU. Provides equipment to support patient transport requirements. Maintain a clean and sanitary environment for patients, staff, and visitors at Christiana Care. Ensure supplies are adequately stocked on the unit. Duties and Responsibilities: Transports patients via stretcher, wheelchair, beds, and specialized vehicles as directed by peri anesthesia charge nurses and leaders Maintains all patient and ancillary areas of the peri anesthesia areas in a clean and sanitary condition. Maintains all carts/equipment in a clean, orderly, and safe condition. Carts/equipment is not to be left unattended. Remove ALL empty boxes from carts/closets/floors all areas. Maintains a clean/orderly appearance in all Environmental Services closets. Maintains supplies in bedside drawers, cabinets, and airway/isolation boxes in PACU. Maintains paper and soap/hand gel supplies in all areas of the Christiana PACU. Cleans/disinfects all precaution rooms in accordance with infection control policies/procedures. Answers Environmental Services texts/calls when assigned in a timely manner. Turn phones on and open Vocera app immediately when clocked in for your shift and log into each app on the phone to be prepared to work. Attends regularly scheduled in-service training programs given by the department. Reports any maintenance problems or damages to Supervisor/Manager. Maintains a helpful, productive attitude throughout the workday. Picks up trash and soiled linen in PACU. Cleans/disinfects empty rooms in a timely manner for the next patient by rounding the cores. Performs assigned work safely, adhering to established departmental safety rules and practices. Reports to supervisor, in a timely manner, any unsafe activities, conditions, hazards, or safety violations that may cause injury to oneself, other employees, patients and visitors. Hours: Rotating Day/Evening (8hour) Shifts Education and Experience Requirements: High school diploma preferred Customer service experience preferred Working Conditions: Potential exposure to infectious disease unless special precautions are followed. Safety Glasses must be worn at all times. Frequent: Handwashing. Intermittent exposure of skin to dilute cleaning agents. Physical Demands: Continuous: standing or walking; pushing and/or pulling - often involving considerable weight; repetitive motion of fingers, hands, wrists, and/or elbows - often involving considerable weight. After six months of continuous employment, the hourly rate will automatically increase to $20.34 per hour. This pay rate/range represents ChristianaCare's good faith and reasonable estimate of compensation at the time of posting.
