POSITION OVERVIEW AND PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS):

Afognak Diversified Services, Inc a subsidiary of Afognak Native Corporation has an opportunity for Captain of the Guard, (COTG) in Kinston, NC.


TheCOTGreports to the Sr. Operations Manager and is responsible for the scheduling, operations, and quality of the service provided to our customer. TheCOTGis responsible for the hiring and staffing at all supported facilities. TheCOTGManagerwill coordinate with the Sr. Operations Manager on all matters concerning the discipline and corrective actions of employees and has the authority to take these actions.


This opportunity is for a POTENTIAL CONTRACT award and is contingent upon the contract being awarded. Consideration for a potential contract may require a signed letter of intent. If the contract is awarded, another position posting will be available on the Company Careers portal.



  • Responsible for daily oversight of security operations, staff, patrols, inspections, and emergency response.
  • Maintain appropriate staffing levels at all facilities under the Captain of the Guard's control
  • Ensure Quality of Service provided exceeds contract requirements.
  • Coordinate with the Training Manager to ensure all employees maintain all certifications, qualifications and contract required training.
  • Ensure guards adhere to established security policies, procedures, and regulations
  • Oversee response to incidents
  • Create and manage guard schedule effectively and efficiently with mimimal overtime created
  • Manage payroll process for workforce
  • Manage inventories of all guard uniforms and equipment
  • Manage all company owned vehicles assigned to guard staff
  • Other duties assigned by the Ops Manager from time to time to meet operational needs
  • Applicant must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office software applications.
  • Applicant must have demonstrated especially effective leadership and team-building skills.
  • Applicant should have experience in labor relations, logistics, and communications. Applicant must have demonstrated excellent analytical, oral, verbal and writing skills


Payrate:$67,600 Annually

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in one of the law enforcement, security management, or related fields.
  • Pursuant to the Government Contract, you must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in Law enforcement and or security support services of ten plus (10+) may be substituted for educational requirements.
  • Must have an excellent working knowledge of access control systems and of protection criteria for sensitive/classified materials and facilities. The candidate must show the ability to supervise subordinates in an effective and professional manner.
  • Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office software applications.
  • Must have demonstrated especially effective leadership and team-building skills.
  • Should have experience in labor relations, logistics, and communications.
  • Must have demonstrated excellent analytical, oral, verbal and writing skills.
